Prominent Figures and Their Sign

Have you ever admired a prominent figure, just to realize they have the same zodiac sign as you (or a compatible sign)? Or maybe their sign is different, but their sign has qualities you desire. How influential are signs in our personalities? Isn’t it eerie that most serial killers are either: Pisces, Geminis, Sagittariuses, and Virgos (p.s. Don’t worry, I know this is just a coincidence, do NOT label all people under these signs as serial killers!). Using a list of over 100 top famous people (including politicians, actors, musicians, activists, etc.), I will examine a few of them, and see how their sign could influence their work. (I will only use the characteristics common to their sign and provide a quote by them that represents the essence of their sign to limit my own feelings towards these people).

Ranking at number 5 on this list, Martin Luther King Jr. is well known for his leadership in the civil rights movement. His “I Have A Dream” speech is known to be one of the most powerful speeches, and is studied in schools around the world. Born on January the 15th, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. belongs to the Capricorn sign. Capricorns are known for their tenacity, which is very fitting as he continued to fight for equality, even though he knew he was risking his life. Capricorns are not afraid to charge forward over any mountain, reflected in their symbol of the mountain goat, thus he already possessed the skills needed to be a leader. Also, remember that the Capricorn is a cardinal quality. All cardinal quality signs start at the beginning of a new season, which represents enthusiasm for change and initiation qualities. A quote of his that embodies the Capricorn mindset reads, “If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl, but by all means, keep moving”. His determination and passion for the cause has inspired many people and continues to inspire people for decades to come.

Coming in at number 26 on this list, is another American activist, Rosa Parks. She also played a huge role in the civil rights movement, some even calling her, “the first lady of civil rights”. Determined to put an end to segregated public facilities, she refused to give up her seat to a white man on the bus. This act would initiate one of the largest social movements that spread throughout the country. Born on February the 4th, she is an Aquarius. They are known for their individuality and rebellious nature. Aquarians are very logical and always know what they want. This quote from Ms. Parks reflects her Aquarian nature: “I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear…” She had no clue that the decision she made that day would spark such a big movement.

At number 8, Donald Trump’s influence is very relevant, as he holds the position as the current president of the United States. First known for his business pursuits and television appearances, his outspoken personality gained him popularity with voters, leading him to win the 2017 presidential election. Born on June the 14th, the divide between those that love him and those that do not definitely represents the majority of Geminis. The Gemini symbol is the twins, symbolizing how different people can view a Gemini in completely different lights. Gemini’s are individual thinkers and are not afraid to speak their minds. Rapper, Kanye West was very open about his support for Trump during the 2017 election, which is not surprising as he is a Gemini as well! The Gemini sign falls under the mutable quality. Mutable signs enjoy changes in scenery, which may explain how Trump took his business work into reality TV, and reality TV into presidency. A quote from Trump that captures the Gemini mindset reads, "What separates the winners from the losers is how a person reacts to each new twist of fate".

While Hillary Clinton does not appear on this particular list, it would be interesting to see how her sign impacted her as the democratic candidate for the 2017 presidential election against Trump. Hillary Clinton was well acquainted with the White House before running, as she was the First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001, while her husband Bill Clinton was president. She has always been active in politics, from serving as class president in high school to being Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. Born on October the 26th, she is a Scorpio. While Scorpios are water signs, water signs being more emotional than the other elements, they have a distinct intensity to them. This may explain why during the election, she would get in heated debates with Trump, as there is an underlying power struggle between their signs. A quote of hers that embodies the essence of the sensitive, yet bold nature of Scorpios is, “When you stumble, keep faith. And when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on”.

Known as the “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson landed number 71 on this list of prominent figures. From a young age, he wowed the world with his vocal and dancing abilities. Wherever he set foot, pandemonium broke out. He also used his music to shed light on racial injustices and environmental issues. Born on August the 29th, Michael Jackson was a Virgo. Virgos are very particular about what they want and strive for perfection in everything they do. This may be why everything he did was bigger than what most other artists around him were doing. From the choreography to wardrobe, he ensured his stage presence consisted of everything he envisioned. A quote of his that reflects this reads, "Just doing as well as you did last time is not good enough”. His dedication to his craft is inspiring to many artists, and his legacy continues on.

And taking the 72nd spot right after Michael Jackson is American entertainer Madonna. Some call her the “Queen of Pop” and she is known for her extravagant visual performances. She is praised for her artistry that she still incorporates into the performances she gives today. Born on August the 16th, Madonna’s ability to entertain is definitely a quality of a Leo. Leos are represented by the symbol of a lion, meaning they are natural-born leaders that are bold and confident. Madonna is not afraid to take risks and doesn’t care what others have to say about what she does. Leo means “brightest star,” so she has definitely lived that out with the title of “Queen of Pop”. Just about every quote I read from Madonna channels major Leo energy, one being, “I’ve been popular and unpopular, successful and unsuccessful, loved and loathed and I know how meaningless it all is. Therefore I feel free to take whatever risks I want”. Wow!

These are just a few examples of prominent figures that seem to fit their sign’s characteristics very well. Think about some figures you like (or don’t like) and see what their sign is. Can you see elements of their sign playing into their personality?
